Sunday School Opening and Fall BarbequeSeptember 19th is the date! Sunday School will re-open; the choir will vest and process; the entire parish will be in attendance; every parish child will be in Sunday School; and we will have the annual men’s barbeque (well… not exactly a barbeque.) This year the menu is one half a rotisserie chicken, potato salad, cole slaw, corn-on-the-cob; and homemade desserts from the ladies of the parish. A few dogs and burgers will be available for those who do not like chicken. Fun and games will also be available on the field. This is the biggest event of the year put on by the men, so if you would like to help out, please see Jr. Warden Bill Fleig.
Organist/Pianist SearchWe continue to search for a replacement for Grace Froncko, retired after 18 years of service. A search committee consisting of George Beatty, Bill Fleig, Barry Dunphy, and Father Williams has been formed; advertisements placed; feelers put out; and results hoped for, but so far not forthcoming. It is important to note that this will be a difficult position to fill, and may take some considerable time. We are looking for an experienced church musician who can lead a choir and understands the place of music in our worship. This is a part-time job, not paying enough for someone to live on, so we are forced to limit our search to our local area. We have a piano keyboard, and an Ahlborn organ module, so at least we do not need an organist, immediately. In the interim, Zach Steinhauer will fill in as he can (Zach has studied piano for 11 years and organ for 2), and the Synthia church music player will take over otherwise. I ask for your patience as we pursue a qualified person for this position. Meanwhile, if you know anyone who might be qualified and interested in the position, please let Father Williams know. The SamaritansThere are a few parishioners who would very much like to get to church on Sundays, but have no means of getting here. If it would be possible for you to transport (depending on where they live) one or more people one or more Sundays a month, please contact Father Williams about this most important ministry. Thursday Nights at Trinity - Bible StudyBible Study will begin on Thursday, September 30. The study this Fall will be THE REVELATION of Jesus Christ. Study guides will be provided. We will be returning to the original format of TNT (Thursday Nights at Trinity), a dinner of pasta, meatballs, salad, bread and a drink for $2.00 per person. Dinner is served from 5:30 to 6:00, followed by cleanup and fellowship. The Bible study will be from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Come for the supper, or the study or (hopefully) both. All adults and confirmed youths are invited to attend. Please join us, we have found this to be a meaningful and educational experience. There is a sign up sheet in the Narthex.
Annual Diocesan SynodThe Diocese of the Northeast of the Anglican Church in America will meet in Synod September 23 and 24th in Manchester, NH. The actual business session of the Synod will be held on Friday the 24rd. Trinity will have six lay representatives at this year’s synod, including Kirby Wood, President of the House of Laity, and Steve Young, President of the Standing Com-mittee. All parishioners are welcome to attend. There is no charge to attend, and for a small fee, meals will be made available to you as well as the delegates. Registration sheets and detailed information is available in the Narthex for those interested in attending.
